As we mentioned yesterday, designer Alexander McQueen was honored posthumously at the British Fashion Awards last night. Nick Knight, head of the highly influential SHOWstudio, and frequent McQueen collaborator, made a film as part of the tribute. Above is the film, with a soundtrack from one of our all-time favorite gals, Bjork. The film is quite moody, but that seems apt when talking about the temperamental and mercurial vision of the designer. Although it would be difficult to fully encapsulate the scope and breadth of his career, Nick Knight does a wonderful job in visually evoking the feelings of McQueens macabre world (Editors note: I'm thrilled that he also included pieces from my all time favorite collection -- possibly ever -- McQueen's Fall/Winter 2009). It definitely captures the delicate balance that McQueen treaded between earthy, organic beauty and hints of gothic, subversive chaos.
