Thou Shalt Covet: Maison Martin Margiela Shawl Collar Cardigan

In honor of Maison Martin Margiela's first foray into the world of online shopping, this edition of Thou Shalt Covet is going to be a special request from his fall 2010 line. Usually, when we shop online, it tends to be things that aren't too dependent on fit. We'd rather stick to shoes, jewelry, or other accessories and leave more finicky purchases like shirts, pants and suiting for an actual in-store experience where we can test-drive the goods. But this brown shawl collar cardigan is calling to us. As fall slowly starts to make its chilly presence known, a chunky knit sweater is exactly what we want to add layers to our autumnal outfits. It goes without saying that Margiela usually has an amazing fit and is not overly designed. The house makes clothing that is interesting but not obnoxious -- something subtle and luxurious. It looks thick but shapely, warm and not too bulky. Definitely the type of thing we can get behind.
