What more is there to say about designer Adam Kimmel other than he's just a cool dude. He constantly creates some of the best menswear on the market while remaining true to his unfussy, not-too-fashion-y point-of-view. His menswear is masculine and straight-forward, but still maintains a level of quality and craftsmanship that consistently sets the bar for other designers (golf claps). The other inspired thing about Kimmel is his ability to reference seemingly bizarre, random or discordant concepts but then distill them into covetable wares. For spring/summer 2011 he showed a collection that was influenced by none other than west coast rapper Snoop Dogg. Eh? Well, worry not friends, Kimmel did it with his special brand of subversive panache and turned nineties streetwear on its ear -- in a good way. Now, to accompany that collection, Kimmel has just released his first foray into the sneaker arena. The high-top kicks clearly have their roots firmly planted in the LA rapper/hip-hop scene, but would be a welcome addition to any modern man's wardrobe. They come in two varities, a Chelsea boot option and a Nike-esque high-top sneaker version. We could wax poetic about how they're both inherently cool and effortlessly chic, but you've got a pair of eyes -- see for yourself. Photos courtesy of Adam Kimmel
