This week on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, the crews were given personal messages from Ms. Bootylicious herself, Beyonce Knowles. The entirety of the show was far more interesting than usual given that the music didn't include lyrics like "Get down, go 'head, get down." But of course, the real reason we tuned in was for the new and improved Sasha Fierce, transgender voguer, Leyomy.
Leyomy and the boys of Vogue Evolution were presented the challenge of mastering the hit "Deja Vu," while incorporating African dance moves similar to those in the actual music video. That's what they said in the show at least. I seem to recall that the closest thing to African dance Beyonce does in that video is flail around in a grass skirt that looks more Honolulu hooker than African princess.
Anyway -- no surprise -- Vogue Evolution hits it hard, and the judges commend them to the extreme. It even appears they've won over super butch choreographer (oxymoron much?) Shane Sparks.
Check out the latest Vogue Evolution development above and stay tuned Sundays at 9PM Eastern on MTV to watch and vote to keep our gays in the running.
