Patty Duke Dolls It Up At The Castro Theatre

Monday night in San Francisco is not Monday night in New York. The go-go dancers of Supper Club have yet to appear and ladies night on lower Haight have yet to open their doors until Tuesday night. Without a plan and with the little extra money you have earned from withholding from that fourth, fifth or sixth margarita this weekend, partake in a classic event at one of Castro's most classic venues, The Castro Theater.

Organized by Marc Huestis, "Sparkle Patty Sparkle" will host the Academy Award Winner to a backdrop of The Valley of the Dolls, the cult sensation she immortalized. Beginning at 6pm with a meet-and-greet, the night will host a question and answer section mediated by Bruce Vilanch, peformances by Bay Area legends Connie Champagne and Matthew Martin and an 8pm viewing of the reel. The gala will culminate with a sing-along of the theme song from The Patty Duke Show. Some of the proceeds will benefit New Leaf Services, NAMI Walk/SF Bay Area and the Mental Health Association of San Francisco.

Though tickets range from 30 to 60 dollars depending on desired time of arrival, the tribute promises to be nothing short of an exhilarating experience, with an equally unique audience to match. For ticket and other information please contact (415) 863-0611 or hostess2@earthlink.net.
