Though RuPaul's Drag Raceis about finding America's Next Drag Superstar, it's also very much about Ru. For "Snatch Game" the queens have to make RuPaul laugh; the style of drag that's prized on the show, mostly men dressing up to appear like women, is the style that Ru made his name doing; the skills that are valued in the competition are the skills that paid off in the long-run for Ru. And so as much as every week, and every season, we look to see what the contestants put down the runway, we've also come to see what Ru does. Over the past six months, that has changed.
As we all know by now, RuPaul doesn't know her own drag. We are sure that it's all under Ru's purview, and she teaches her collaborators a few tricks, or things that she prefers, but the reality is mama makes enough money that she pays others to make Monster, the queen we've come to know and love. Zaldy has done Ru's clothing since way back when. Mathu Andersen started doing hair and makeup early but Ru and the master artist parted ways sometime around the beginning of season nine. In his place came show alumni Raven and Delta Work splitting the makeup and hair duties respectively. And while Raven is still painting Ru's mug, there's been a change in hair: introducing to some re-introducing to others, Curtis William Foreman.
From what we can tell, Foreman has been working with Ru for almost all of the queen's projects that have come out over the past six months. That includes: RuPaul's Drag Race U.K; Aj and the Queen; all Aj and the Queen press including an Interview Magazine cover, a Vanity Fair cover, a Vogue editorial, and a Saturday Night Live hosting slot; and the most current season of RuPaul's Drag Race. But they've had some sort of connection since as far back as Drag Race season 6 when he worked on the promo. From that gig he leapfrogged into more drag work, working with Kelly Mantle and Laganja Estranja. But even before that, he was already boasting a 20+ year career according to Cliche magazine and a clientele that included the "Kardashians and Gwyneth Paltrow."
According to his bio, Foreman does "hair, wig, makeup, and SFX" concepts. He's from Louisiana and graduated from the master's program at Cinema Makeup School. He's become known for his sculpting wig work which he has termed WigART. This work has appeared on everything we've already mentioned in addition to The Little Mermaid Live!, The Walking Dead, and Stranger Things. According to his resume, he also worked on RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Raceand All Stars season 5, both part of a "two-year collaboration" with Ru!
