Plastique Tiara Does Tattoed Trade Drag for Birthday Posts

Plastique Tiara in tattooed drag.

Is she the trade of the season?

Sunday may have been Plastique Tiara's 23rd birthday but it was her followers that were getting gifts. To celebrate the special day, the RuPaul's Drag Race season 11 contestant released a photo shoot featuring her torso -- no surprise to her followers -- tat, tat, tatted up.
The project, which was shot by Jonce Studios, features Tiara in a shower. "ThirstTrap.JPG" the photographer wrote in a separate post. In an accompanying wordless video, Tiara actually turns on the water, for a bit of a "wet T-shirt contest" look. Well, well, well!
Maybe she was the trade of the season?!
Fun note: The phenom of "drag transformations," where performers compare what they look like in and out of drag to show just how much work goes into their craft, came as a result, arguably, of Drag Race. As Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez, the couple behind the popular Tom & Lorenzo blog, note in their book Legendary Children: The First Decade of RuPaul's Drag Race and the Last Century of Queer Life, when Ru decided to show the contestants out of drag for the majority of episodes, it stirred up controversy within the drag community. Most performers, up to then, had kept their lives quite separate, many rarely going out during the day.
Boy has that changed! Tiara, loves herself a transformation side-by-side and in-part came to prominence, prior to Drag Race, by posting them on social media. Followers had become used to seeing clips of the performer's lean, muscled body transforming into the perfectly painted and tucked queen we've come to know and love, long before Tik Tok. Pushing that a little further by applying what we assume to be temporary tattoos? Well, that's what drag is all about!
Happy belated birthday to Plastique Tiara!
