Vivian Wilson isn't living in fear.

Pride Month is essentially here and the famous transgender model is using her platform to show her unapologetic queerness during a very hostile time for the LGBTQ+ community.

Wilson is kicking off June by teaming up with Rihanna on the 2026 Pride campaign for Savage x Fenty. Starring alongside models like Laith Ashley, Honey Balenciaga, Plastique Tiara, the photo shoot celebrates all types of diverse bodies that make up every color of the rainbow.

"Trans bodies are so hated on and so demonized. I think it's very important that queer people are very visible. To do this campaign where trans bodies are celebrated is very important. One of the other models started throwing me around like a baseball bat at one point! I'm ready for hot girl summer too," Wilson tells Out.

As anti-LGBTQ+ legislation continues to gain momentum under President Donald Trump's leadership, Wilson is continuing to use her platform to speak out against homophobic and bigoted policies.

"As queer people, we're always screaming into this void that we're not these demons you think we are. It's exhausting, but it's incredibly important to lift up the queer community. We can't stop screaming. Queer progress has gotten better and now it's getting worse. Especially in these political times, it's important to showcase queer joy."

Although Wilson's bravery is extremely admirable, her platform has raised concerns for her safety. Wilson's father, Elon Musk, has posted transphobic remarks on social media against his daughter that have even offended his ex, Ashley St. Clair.

St. Clair recently posted on her Instagram Story that Musk's targeted statements have resulted in "threats against my family" at an increasingly alarming rate. "Elon is aware that he has this impact, particularly on those he posts negatively about," St. Clair said.

While St. Clair's concerns are very valid, Wilson wants all of her supporters to know that she's safe and not worried about harm potentially coming her way.

"I'm still alive! Nobody needs to be concerned about that, unless they know something I don't. I'm safe. I'm fine. For people who are worried about my safety... I'm not worried about my safety. I love my supporters. They're the reason I can live at the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope I'm doing right by them and will continue to do right by them."

Pride Month has become a very joyous and celebratory time of the year for the LGBTQ+ community, but the origins of Pride are rooted in protests and riots to demand equality. Wilson encourages any struggling queer youth to remain positive and connect with like-minded people as they navigate their own experiences.

"I know how suffocating it can be. It's hard to believe, but things do get better. My advice to queer people in general is to try and find community. They will lift you up and that's the most fulfilling thing in life. I know for some people that's not entirely feasible. Just be safe and practice digital safety divas."
