Ever since he released the song "Bloom," people have had the wrong idea about him, the singer says.

It's time to clear the air, officially!

"Rush" singer and pop prince Troye Sivan is setting the record straight about his preferences when it comes to positions he takes in the bedroom, and he wants the world to know that, despite what many people may think, he is, in fact, NOT a bottom.

During a recent appearance on bisexual model and actress Emily Ratajkowski's High Low podcast, The Idol star opened up something that has been on his mind as of late.

"This is actually something I want to clear up," Sivan tells Ratajkowski in a clip from the podcast that she posted to her TikTok account on Tuesday. "I wrote this one song called 'Bloom,' right? And it's about bottoming. And the lyric is 'I bloom just for you.' And people took that and ran. I think in the sort of consciousness of gay people I'm some crazy power bottom or something, which is just not the case, and I just wanted to put that out there."

When Ratajkowski asks Sivan if clarifying that publicly is annoying, he responds, saying, "No, not really."

"I think sometimes people are just surprised if they go on a date with me or something like that and I'm like, 'Oh, by the way, I'm not a bottom.'"

So how did this notion that Sivan is a bottom — a power bottom, at that — even come about in the first place? Well, like Sivan mentioned in High Low, it's kind of his own doing.

Back in 2018, the singer released "Bloom," the third single from his sophomore album of the same name. Sivan himself described the track as a "power bottom anthem" to Dazed, and with lyrics like "I need you to tell me right before it goes down/Promise me you'll hold my hand if I get scared now/Might tell you to take a second, baby, slow it down/You should know I/I bloom just for you" there was absolutely no second guessing what exactly the song was about.

Though Troye is sharing the fact that he's not a power bottom to the world now, there's is still no denying that "Bloom" is — and will always be — an iconic bop for those who are!
