Nicholas Galitzine is the name on everyone's lips.
The talented actor has kept himself booked in Hollywood since his breakout part as Prince Henry in Red, White & Royal Blue in 2023. Following the queer film's mainstream success, Galitzine has starred in a slew of blockbuster projects including his thrilling new role as He-Man in Masters of the Universe.
The action movie has garnered plenty of buzz for months due to Galitzine's unbelievable transformation into the popular superhero. Besides his impressive physique, queer fans are thrilled to see He-Man come to life as the action figure is considered a gay icon due to heavy LGBTQ-coding that originated in the 1980s.
"I have always felt the complete love and support of the queer community, [especially] in the last few years with Red, White, & Royal Blue or Mary & George. It's really overwhelming! I hope that they'll come out and support this movie in the same way they've supported my other projects," Galitzine tells Out.
Galitzine's costar Camila Mendes, who plays Teela in the film, even admits that He-Man deserves his legendary gay status just based off of his looks alone.
"Have you seen the He-Man Barbie? It's insane. The blowout? They even got his mole, his little beauty mark! I love the gay community. I'm always looking for opportunities to uplift the gay community. This project is so niche. It's a different type of superhero film," Mendes adds.
Although Galitzine has joked that he's been unable to maintain his He-Man bulk following production, the actor admits that he was even shocked every time he looked in the mirror on set.
"I didn't even recognize myself anymore! It was a very strange process. You see yourself every day and you have to keep trusting that you're going to reach that goal in the end, even when it feels out of sight. I'm just very floored and very honored that people's reaction to it has been so positive."
Masters of the Universe certainly has momentum to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2026, but Galitzine's reprisal of Prince Henry in Red, White & Royal Wedding has fans eagerly waiting with anticipation. The gay sequel is slated to release later this year.
"It was the first time I got to revisit a character. We've upped the ante a little bit and I really think that we've given fans what they've been wanting the last few years. We're just choosing to make these projects with love and I think a lot can be taken and learned from that."
Masters of the Universe comes out in theaters on Friday, June 5. To see the full interview with Nicholas Galitzine, check out the video at the top of the page.
