Boots heartthrob Max Parker appeared as a guest on I’ve Never Said This Before hosted by Tommy DiDario. During the interview, Parker discussed his musical theater background, adding that he even got to work alongside Cynthia Erivo on a wild West End production.
After telling DiDario that he had been starring in various West End musicals for five years — Matilda the Musical, Guys and Dolls — Parker joked that he can barely touch his toes at the moment.
The actor also discussed working with Erivo on a truly bonkers West End musical that satirized The X Factor. “It was called I Can’t Sing,” Parker explained. “It was sort of this farce musical written by a comedian called Harry Hill, and it was the strangest, funniest thing.”
The actor added, “Simon Cowell was an alien trying to steal money for his planet. I stopped like Cynthia getting through the audition. There was this, like, huge blow-up mouth at the back of the stage, and I came in as a fly and, like, home to tongue. It was just the weirdest show.”

Nonetheless, Parker recalled that I Can’t Sing opened doors for him, like performing at the Royal Variety Performance. “As a Brit, such like a big tick,” he said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Parker recalled that he did cheerleading when he was younger. More specifically, “a dance style called ‘disco’ in the U.K,” describing it as a “highly competitive” world.
“I just used to do it because I had so much energy as a kid. My sisters were doing it … And then both my sisters ended up quitting, and I kept on with it,” Parker explained, laughing.
This brand-new episode of I've Never Said That Before with Tommy DiDario, featuring Max Parker, drops this Tuesday, October 21 on iHeart.
