Matteo Lane can truly do it all.
The handsome comedian is managing a beautiful relationship with his husband and successful stand-up career all while looking better than ever. At nearly 40 years old, Lane is living his best life while on the road for his tour, appropriately titled We Gotta Catch Up!
His new stand-up show features an hour of new material that took an entire year to write and perfect for audiences around the world. Although the jokes may be new, Lane is pulling inspiration from his everyday shenanigans from his gay life, going all the way back to his childhood.
"I grew up in an Italian home with all of the Italian women in my house constantly gossiping. They're the gayest women on the face of the planet! When I was growing up, I watched comedians like Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho, and Joan Rivers. All three of them had a way of talking to you like it was the first time they were telling the story. My stand-up is very genuine," Lane tells Out.
Besides his successful tour, Lane also had The Al Dente Special drop on Hulu last year and he continues to go viral for his hysterical videos all over social media. His hustle is truly unmatched as he continues to carve his own lane as a gay comedian.
"No one in the industry was knocking on my door, so I'll just do it myself! They're still not really knocking on my door. Everything is so stressful and hard, so let's just carve out one hour where you can just come and laugh. It's very sweet and humbling when my jokes bring a smile to people's faces."
Lane is a certified workaholic, but the gym has served as his escape from reality as his comedy continues to take him across the globe. Plus, his adoring fans certainly don't complain at a slew of his spicy photos that pop up on his Instagram.
"I love working out! My sister's a bodybuilder and it's in the family. I don't drink. I have a drink once every five months. I don't do drugs. I don't party. I don't do any of that. The gym makes me feel centered! I don't have to think about anything. I can just focus on triceps! I'm trying to give all that I can."
