Pucker up!
Jonathan Bennett has brought queer excellence to the big and small screens for years, so it only seemed fitting that the Mean Girls star would host the 37th GLAAD Media Awards.
The handsome actor took the hosting gig seriously as he introduced many alter egos throughout the night as he cosplayed as a drag queen, hockey star, and a Marine.
However, his favorite role in life is being a husband to his incredible partner Jaymes Vaughan as the couple is celebrating four years of marriage this year. The two packed on the the PDA as they posed for photos kissing on the red carpet ahead of the big show.
"My homosexuality has peaked! My gayness is at 110 percent right now. The thought of kissing a boy on a red carpet during the Mean Girls era wasn't even a possibility. When we were younger, we never saw a love like ours on a red carpet and in the media. We always make sure we kiss so some kid somewhere can see two men who are proud to be who they are," Bennett tells Out.
The GLAAD Media Awards had plenty of moments of queer joy as the cast of Heated Rivalry won Outstanding New TV Series, Liza Minnelli made a surprise appearance, and Bennett even made his debut as Symone's drag daughter.
Bennett admits that he had a blast flirting with the Heated Rivalry stars as the show begun and that both François Arnaud and Robbie G.K. were thrilled to go along for the ride.
"I'm a man of the people. I did it for all of the Heated Rivalry fans. What better way to open the show than sitting with François and Robbie? They couldn't be kinder. They were such good sports. They were such team players! I want to be on Heated Rivalry. Obvious, everyone wants to be on Heated Rivalry."
The 37th GLAAD Media Awards streams this Saturday on Hulu. To see the full interview with Jonathan Bennett, check out the video at the top of the page.
