Don Lemon is ready for change.
The notable journalist has had quite the year so far as he was arrested by federal agents after his coverage of the Minneapolis ICE protests back in January.
Since then, Lemon has only kept the momentum going as he continues to cover important political news coming out of The White House and across the country.
The reporter served as a presenter at the 37th GLAAD Media Awards where he condemned fascism and showed gratitude to his supporters since his arrest.
"Don't be afraid! They want you to be afraid. The way that you combat a bully is to stand up to them. The metaphorical thing is to punch them in the nose. If someone is trying to intimidate you, you have to take a stand and show them you're not afraid," Lemon tells Out.
Many other journalists and fans of Lemon have called his actions heroic or admirable as his fearless reporting has inspired others to cover hot button topics with more ambition.
"I know that folks think I'm brave. I don't know what that means. I'm just doing what I believe is right. The First Amendment is extremely important to me. It'd the bedrock of our constitution. Without the First Amendment, everything else crumbles."
Although many people are living in fear over the hostile political climate, Lemon encourages all reporters and journalists to remember that they're allowed to do their jobs under law.
"Representation is important and your job is protected by the constitution. Our jobs are protected. Stand in that and just do your thing. Be strong. Be excellent. Work hard and be fearless. Remember, part of it is reporting on what is happening without fear or favor."
