JoJo Siwa Fell In Love, Realized She Was Gay At Disney World

“I have a lot of really fun memories here. I have a lot of really hard memories here, but I have grown a lot at Disney."

Since she came out in early 2021, JoJo Siwa has been one of the most vocal and public gay celebs out there, and fans of hers will know she loves the Disney theme parks. Now, she’s combining the two things into a magical story about love.

Siwa was at the Magic Kingdom for an early preview of the new TRON Lightcycle/Run ride when she opened up about how a lot of her core experiences as a queer person have taken place there.

“I have a lot of really fun memories here. I have a lot of really hard memories here, but I have grown a lot at Disney,” she told People.

“I fell in love for the first time at Disney World. I realized I was gay at Disney World. I went through stages of heartbreak at Disney World,” she revealed. “There's been a lot in my personal life that Disney World has really attributed to."

Siwa opened up about how she went on a trip to the theme park with her good friend Kylie Prew, and as the trip went on, she realized she wanted to be more than just friends.

She remembers “the tension of riding every ride, sitting next to each other, walking around the park like my brother and his girlfriend because we thought it was funny. But really, we both just wanted to hold hands. Those memories just make my heart so happy.”

Eventually, Siwa realized the jokes had something real behind them.

“I was here for 14 days with a girl that was my really good friend and I realized that, ‘Oh, I like her,’” Siwa said. “And having all those feelings while just being in the most magical place in the world and the happiest place on Earth was so cool. We're not together anymore, but we did have some really fun, happy memories here.”

Siwa and Prew dated for a short time, but broke up last summer. Since then, Siwa dated TikToker Avery Cyrus for three months, but is currently single.
