Dancer JoJo Siwa and TikTok star Avery Cyrus have officially broken up.

Cyrus posted a video on TikTok highlighting her seven-day Royal Caribbean cruise. In it, Siwa has a gift and quips, "This is my, 'I'm sorry for breaking up with you' present."

Although Siwa is seemingly laughing while she says it, fans were quick to jump into the comments and wonder what happened. Cyrus responded to a comment with the following:

"We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out."

The couple had been together for three months. They first caught attention in August after they filmed a TikTok alongside each other. They officially confirmed their relationship on September 13 with a TikTok video showing them kissing in a Chuck E. Cheese photo booth. Two days later, they made their red-carpet debut together.

The pair chronicled their relationship on their respective social media platforms. Siwa announced herself as "off the market" in October after a series of Instagram posts, as well as proper confirmation in a YouTube vlog.

At the time, Cyrus said, "We're girlfriends now. I'm so happy you said yes. I knew you weren't gonna say no, I was just nervous." Siwa responded with, "I'd be insane if I said no, you're the best girlfriend in the world."

A month in, Siwa posted an Instagram video to celebrate their first month together. The caption reads, "Celebrating our 1 month in the most special way. Happy 1 month to the happiest girl who makes me more happy than ever :)"

This is the second split for Siwa this year, who broke up with her on-and-off partner Kylie Prew in August. Siwa went public with their relationship after confirming she was part of the LGBTQ community in January 2021.

The star told People, "I don't know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool. I like queer."

She also said she never wanted her coming out to be a big deal, saying, "My thing is, I don't want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren't going to support not only me, but the LGBTQ community."

Siwa has yet to publicly address the breakup with Cyrus.
