Johnny Sibilly Recreated a Cheeky Britney Spears Magazine Cover
Putting a gay spin on an iconic Britney Spears magazine cover!
Johnny Sibilly is proving just how big of a Britney Spears fan he really is!
On Thursday, October 26, the Hacks actor shared a tribute to Spears’ November 2003 cover for Esquire magazine. Sibilly used a similar sweater and pair of white heels, mimicked her cheeky sideways pose, and turned the headline, “70 Years of Women We Love” into “70 Years of Gay Men We Love.”
The actor, who just launched the new Tres Leches podcast alongside Ian Paget and Juan Torres-Falcon, wrote in the Instagram caption:
“Celebrating Britney Spears & Halloween. Thank you @maxwellpoth & @drewransom for making it come to life! [heart-eyed emoji] My fave Britney cover ever [heart emoji].”

Other changes include changing the Esquire slogan from “Man At His Best” to “Man At His Naughtiest.”
In his new version, the sentence under Sibilly’s name reads, “Johnny Sibilly – Voted sexiest man alive by America.” In Spears’ version, that sentence read: “Britney Spears re-creates a classic Esquire pose.”

As acknowledged by Sibilly in an Instagram story, the actual original version of this Esquire cover featured Angie Dickinson for the publication’s August 1993 edition. Given that this was published 10 years before Spears’ version, the headline read “Sixty Years of Women We Love.”
If this is a preview of what to expect from Sibilly for Halloween, we couldn’t be more excited. Happy spooky season, gays!
