Brooklyn Beckham has spilled some family secrets in a lengthy statement uploaded Monday to his Instagram Story, the latest in a series of recent social media posts that detail the rift between him and famous parents, Victoria and David Beckham.

The 26-year-old English photographer starts his account by saying he's stayed "silent for years" about the estrangement, but his parents continue to "spread lies" and plant untrue stories in the media, which finally prompted him to speak out.

"I do not want to reconcile with my family," Brooklyn begins. "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life." He went on to say that his parents have specifically targeted his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and much of the drama centered around the pair's wedding in April 2022.

"My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped," Brooklyn shares about David, a former soccer star, and Victoria, the Spice Girls member. "My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children."

He goes on to write, "They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since. During wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me 'evil' because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Nicola's Naunni at our table, since they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours."

Brooklyn calls out his mom for stealing his and Peltz's first dance at their wedding and reveals that she "danced very inappropriately on [him] in front of everyone" and that he's "never been more uncomfortable or humiliated in [his] life."

The Beckhams' eldest son says that, after multiple attempts to reconcile, including a trip to London for David's birthday, during which his dad refused to make plans with him, he's stepping away and that the overwhelming anxiety he's felt his whole life has finally disappeared. "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation," he ends his statement. "All we want is peace, privacy, and happiness for our future family."

David appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box on Tuesday morning, following Brooklyn's Instagram posts, and was asked about the dangers of social media. The celebrity athlete somewhat dodged the question and said, "I've always spoken about social media, and the power of social media for the good and for the bad. We've talked about what kids can access these days, and it can be dangerous." He goes on to say that he finds his kids use the internet for all the right reasons.

The pro footballer danced around the question a bit more and alluded to his son's outburst online, saying, "They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn. That's what I try to teach my kids, but, you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well."

Sky News, a British outlet, directly asked David about his thoughts on Brooklyn's posts at the 2026 World Economic Forum — specifically if he was "disappointed family business is being aired in public." David completely ignored the question.
