The Grammy- and Oscar-winning popstar made the revelation in a recent cover story for Variety.

Billie Eilish is dropping some heavy hints about her sexuality.

Fans are buzzing about the superstar singer after she opened up about her feelings towards other women in an interview with Variety and also posted a selfie using a gay meme.

In the cover story for Variety’s Power of Women issue, Eilish talked about how she feels as a woman in the spotlight.

Early in the interview, Eilish opened up about her relationship with other women, saying that she never really felt like she could relate to other girls growing up, but that there is a strong pull she feels toward other women.

“I love them so much,” she said about other women. “I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”

“I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life,” she continued. “I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”

She’s both attracted to and intimidated by girls? Now if that isn’t relatable to every queer girl out there, I don’t know what is!

Eilish continued to talk about her complicated relationship to other women, and how it even includes a complicated relationship with her own womanhood.

“I’ve never felt like a woman, to be honest with you. I’ve never felt desirable. I’ve never felt feminine. I have to convince myself that I’m, like, a pretty girl,” she said. “I identify as ‘she/her’ and things like that, but I’ve never really felt like a girl.”

But the interview wasn’t the only place Eilish seemed to be straight-up saying she’s not straight. On Friday the Grammy and Oscar winning singer posted a selfie to her Instagram stories that used a filter to write the words “Gay & Tired” on her face.

While many fans are celebrating her soft launch as a queer, other fans have been pointing at an old video of Eilish that shows her with blonde hair, which she had in 2021. In the video, Eilish was asked about her sexuality.

“I’m straight as a ruler,” she said. “But no, I’m not gay at all. I’m very very straight. I like men.”

“But f*ckin’ girls are sick too, so like, I have nothing against girls, I just don’t find them… I don’t want to… okay I’m gonna stop talking about that,” she continued.

Sexuality is often fluid, so if Eilish has changed since then, it wouldn’t be a surprise. Furthermore, Eilish is currently 21, so it’s likely she simply was not in a place to fully understand her sexuality yet, as many of us continue to grow and learn about ourselves throughout our teen years and twenties.

Whatever Eilish’s truth is, we’re here for it.
