This Hollywood star is getting candid about all of his full-time jobs.

Cheyenne Jackson has graced all fields in entertainment from the Broadway stage to the big and small screens, but his top billing at the moment is his starring role in FOX's Call Me Kat.

"When this show came out, we got real sh***y reviews. It was a rough first season. I will fully own that! But, every show takes time. I think it's going to catch on even more. It stands up to anything on television, you can quote me on that. In terms of comedy? Absolutely," Jackson tells Out.

While Call Me Kat continues to gain momentum in its third season, Jackson is still hanging onto his Broaday roots. Over the summer, he completed a short stint in Into the Woods as Cinderella's Prince/Wolf.

"I try to not look back too much. I'm a Cancer, I'm very emotional. If I start to go through old books and pictures, I can get a little wistful. I just did a couple of weeks in the revival of Into the Woods on Broadway and I hadn't been in a Broadway show in ten years. I was away from my family for a month, the longest I ever have. I had a lot of time to sit and be with myself in New York."

While he was in the Big Apple, the star centered himself and took the time to reflect on how far his career has come.

"This little queer kid from northern Idaho, who didn't fit in... music and acting and performing was my way out of that town. When I see the goals that I've set for myself and here I was in New York about to go sing Sondheim with Sara Bareilles, in my eighth or ninth Broadway show... I can't even believe it's my life."

Jackson is also using his talents behind the camera to tell more diverse and inclusive stories. The actor recently launched his own production company, Shiny Boy Entertainment, with his husband Jason Landau.

"Being 'other' in the town I grew up in, I know what it feels like to be a minority. I know what it feels like to have my rights questioned and people telling me that I can't get married or I can't be a dad. As long as I'm here, as long as I can make any kind of difference, I will always continue to lift those up that can't lift themselves up. That's how my mom and dad raised me and I just don't understand why everybody doesn't do that."

Beyond his professional accomplishments, the father of two is celebrating two key personal milestones this year. He recently celebrated his eighth anniversary and just sent his twins to kindergarten.

"The key is communication and having a sense of humor. You have to be able to laugh at yourself and the situations you're in and not take yourself too seriously," he shares. "We are dads of twins. They just started kindergarten and it is so crazy. It's amazing. All I ever wanted to do was be a dad. There was a big part of my life where I thought it wasn't going to happen. I was in a relationship for a long time before and that wasn't on the table. When I met Jason, I knew it was possible and it's just my favorite thing."

Speaking of favorite things, Jackson is a huge fan of RuPaul's Drag Race and he's made a few appearances on the show throughout the years. His most memorable? Saying Valentina reminded him of Linda Evangelista in season nine, which resulted in an iconic read from Aja in Untucked.

"I love that show. I made it into a song. Thank you for reminding the people! Sometimes people don't know where things start and I said that first."
