Cara Delevingne is combining her passion for activism with her acting career.
The 29-year-old out actress is set to star in the new film The Climb as a daredevil climber who, along with five other women, climbs the tallest building in Europe (London's Shard) as part of a Greenpeace-led protest against Shell Oil's Arctic drilling plans.
The Climb is being written and directed by Hayley Eason Street, an experienced VFX art director who worked on Justice League and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Reportedly, the film will be shot using the same type of virtual production technology used on shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, meaning this should be a stunning movie to see.
Delevingne has long spoken out about her passion for the environment. Last year Delevingne announced she was launching Initiative Earth, a new grassroots charity to help restore our planet's ecosystems. "This charity exists to build and support the global movement that is already regenerating Earth and revitalizing communities," Delevingne said in Vogue UK. "Why? Because there has never been a more urgent need to restore damaged ecosystems than now."
Earlier this year, Delevingne was spotted smooching her close friend Sienna Miller, igniting rumors that the two might be dating. They were allegedly spotted "making out" at Temple Bar in New York City.
According to Page Six, "It was like fluid friends. Sienna made out with this tall guy, and then she made out with Cara. It was like a fun night out." The two have been good friends for years, even kissing before at the 2013 Met Gala and attending the Gala together last year.
However, it's likely that the two were just being friendly, as Delevingne also posted a picture of her kissing RuPaul's Drag Race alum Gottmik (albeit with masks on) on her Instagram. It seems Delevingne, like many queers, isn't afraid to get intimate with friends.
