Superstar singer-songwriter Kehlani has identified as queer for years, and last year, came out as a lesbian. But until recently, we didn't know if she was in a relationship. Now, it looks like she is, and is happier than ever! But who is this mysterious woman she's dating that has fans sparking relationship rumors? What do you need to know about 070 Shake? Don't worry, we've got you covered!
Danielle Balbuena is a rapper better known by her stage name 070 Shake, and is a member of the 070 collective. She was born in New Jersey and is 24 years old. In a 2018 Pitchfork interview, she said: "I don't really identify myself as queer or gay or anything, I just like girls."
070 Shake has been making chill and sexy R&B and electronica-influenced hip-hop since 2016 when she first appeared on the mixtape The 070 Project: Chapter 1. Two years later, she released her first EP Glitter. She released her first album, Modus Vivendi in 2020, and is releasing her second album You Can't Kill Me Because I Don't Exist sometime early this year.
Shake's vocals were featured in two of Kanye West's songs from Ye, "Ghost Town" and "Violent Crimes." She's also worked with Pusha T on the song "Santeria," and with DJ Khaled on the song "Holy Mountain." She includes West, along with Kid Cudi, as major influences. Hopefully, she'll work with Kehlani on a song soon!
According to Capital Xtra, rumors that Kehlani and Shake were an item started last fall, when Shake, who rarely posts on social media, started tweeting about Kehlani. Shake retweeted one of Kehlani's videos, and then later tweeted that she missed the singer. A month later, they were spotted together several times.
On October 21, 2021 the two attended the Bottega Veneta Salon 03 Presentation fashion show together. Kehlani has since shared pictures of them in Miami on the beach, in Dubai, and (most recently) in Las Vegas for New Years.
Shake recently released a video for her new song "Lose My Cool," which prompted Kehlani to comment "I know u, I'm next to u rn, but gahdamn," on Instagram. She's working on her upcoming album You Can't Kill Me Because I Don't Exist, out later this year. Based on the pictures, it also seems like she's having the time of her life with her girlfriend, Kehlani.
