Two of our favorite stars, Schitt's Creek actor and creator Dan Levy and Aubrey Plaza shared a cute selfie from beautiful Italy yesterday, and we wish more than anything we could've been there for that conversation!
After posting a shirtless selfie along with the Italian flag three days ago, Levy posted another picture from his trip, this time featuring him and his Happiest Season costar sitting next to each other by a palm in Tuscany with the caption "ran into my favorite witch in Tuscany!"
We know Plaza is in Italy filming a new movie called Spin Me Round with Alison Brie (who also starred with Plaza and Levy in Happiest Season), but we don't know exactly what Levy is doing there. His first selfie made it seem like he's there on vacation, but what if he's working on a project with Plaza?
Plaza's film is being directed and was co-written (along with Brie) by her husband, Jeff Baena, who previously wrote and directed two other films Plaza starred in, Life After Beth and The Little Hours. It also stars Debby Ryan, Fred Armisen, Molly Shannon, Lauren Weedman, and Lil Rel Howery. IMDb contains no indication that Levy is involved in the film.
According to IMDb, Spin Me Round is about a woman who "wins an all-expenses trip to a company's gorgeous 'institute' outside of Florence, and also the chance to meet the restaurant chain's wealthy and charismatic owner. She finds a different adventure than the one she imagined."Levy and Plaza were the two clear standouts in last year's Happiest Season, Hulu's lesbian Christmas rom-com, and we've been dying to see them work on something together again ever since. The Clea DuVall-directed film became the most-watched Hulu acquired or original film during its opening weekend.
With the two of them, and their co-star Brie all in one location, some fans on social media have been abuzz about whether it means a Happiest Season sequel could be coming. When the original was a success, DuVall said she'd love to do a sequel.
"I have a couple of ideas. We all had such a great time making the movie that we were talking about it then," she said at the time. "But it was also just like, who knew if anybody would care about the movie or not? So I definitely am more than open to it."
Maybe after Brie's character got divorced and Plaza's character was rejected by both Harper and Abby, the two of them could get together with the help of Levy in the sequel? Only time will tell.
