Aubrey Plaza is living the New York dream.
The Emmy-nominated White Lotus star is currently in rehearsals for a new Off-Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley’s play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and while she’s there, she’s living with one of the greatest of all time.
In a new interview with Vulture, Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, her costar in the play, are profiled and talk about how they prepared for the violent and emotional play. The profile then drops a huge bomb on us: Aubrey Plaza is currently living with Broadway icon Patti LuPone???
“While doing the play, Plaza is living on the Upper West Side with Patti LuPone, with whom she recently worked on the Marvel series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,” Vulture reports. (Okay, how do we get invited over for THAT dinner party?!?)
The article says that LuPone has become “something of a surrogate mother” for Plaza, making her soup and doing her laundry.
“She insisted,” Plaza told Vulture about LuPone helping her out. “She’s trying to whip me into shape.”
LuPone is also giving her advice, including telling her that she got strep throat recently, “because you have to toughen up,” and that when acting onstage vs. on camera, “the performance is lifted.”
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is the much-hyped spin-off of the Marvel Cinematic Universe show WandaVision that focuses on Kathryn Hahn’s tricky witch Agatha Harkness. The show also stars Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahan, and Heartstopper star Joe Locke.
Reports are saying that Locke is playing Billy, the gay teen son of Wanda and Vision who is also known as the superhero Wiccan.
Another recent rumor says that Plaza will also be playing a queer character in the show, and that she will be the ex-girlfriend of Hahn’s Agatha!
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries will release in early fall 2024.Latest Stories
