Former Drag Race Contestant Gia Gunn Comes Out as Transgender
"I have been on hormone replacement therapy for about a year and I identify as female and I am indeed transgender."
RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6 contestant Gia Gunn has come out as transgender on Instagram, sharing her truth in honor of Friday's Transgender Day of Visibility. Gunn joins other Drag Race alumni, like Sonique, Jiggly Caliente and current season 9 competitor, Peppermint, who have all publicly come out as trans.

"I thought I would dedicate today in the spirit of being visible to share my transition with all of you," Gunn said in an Instagram video. "I have been on hormone replacement therapy for about a year and I identify as female and I am indeed transgender."
Speaking specifically to all her trans followers, Gunn said, "if you are in transition or struggling with your gender identity, I want to hear from you in the comments and let's be visible." Watch the video, below.
