Oscar-winning actress,
activist, fitness queen, and, at 77, still a sex symbol in Grace and Frankie

You and your mom may have trained together watching her best-selling workout tapes, or watched one of her cult movies (Barbarella, 9 to 5, and, erm, Monster-in-Law), or heard of her ongoing activism: Jane Fonda is a national treasure, and at 77 (shhh!), she's still in the limelight. Here she is, looking hotter than ever, on the cover ofW magazine's new June issue.Jane Fonda cover W Magazine

Photographed by Steven Meisel, Fonda wears in a Giambattista Valli dress and cape on the cover shot, and flaunts her famously flawless figure in designer couture inside the issue. "It's a hoot that, at my age, people are calling me a fashion icon," the actress says in the interview. She also looks more stylish than ever in Netflix's new original series, Grace and Frankie, which brought her back into America's living room.

But Fonda admits that she's not a natural when it comes to fashion. "Truthfully, my relationship to fashion has always been strained," she says. "When I was starting out as an actress in New York, I worked as a model because I needed to pay for acting classes. But I didn't have what it took to be a model. I hated all the emphasis on how I looked, and I never paid much attention to clothes."
