The designer returns to his roots in the Motor City
The resurgence of Detroit continues as John Varvatos opens his first midwest retail location in the historic Wright-Kay building, in the downtown area. "It's with honor, passion, and pride that I open my newest store in my hometown of Detroit," Varvatos commented.
Two floors offer customers a chance to browse all the John Varvatos labels, including John Varvatos Collection, John Varvatos Star USA, and Converse by John Varvatos. The store takes its design inspiration from the brand's store on New York's Bowery, where punk-rock club CBGB used to be located. Decorated with iconic music photos and guitars, the Detroit store also offers an audio experience, with a stage for band performances, as well as a collection of vinyls, and rare vintage musical equipment.
