Is this Hercules a zero or a hero in his West End costume?

Zero or hero?

That's the debate going on in the comments on the first looks at the costumes for Disney's Hercules on the West End.

Disney's Hercules is now on stage, starring Luke Brady in the title role and Mae Ann Jordan as Meg. The costumes and set design have been released online for people to see, and gay fans are going wild!

The costume is pretty simple. Herc is wearing a simple white skirt with a blue Greek design and a matching sash. He's also got some high-top sneakers and wrist bands, but what is drawing the most attention is his top, which happens to be a see-through mesh tank.

Is this inspired costuming that highlights the gay history of Ancient Greece and give queer musical fans something to cheer for? Or is it giving SHEIN clearance sale? That's the debate raging among queer fans in the comments.

Some fans aren't feeling the costume. "Mmm… Was the costume design department on vacation… or just feeling experimental?" asked @massimopillosu.

"This Hercules costume looks like when you click randomize your Sim," @hassanintheworld added.

"That mesh top needs to go… all the other costumes look amazing though," @m1dheavenly said.

Finally, @theaterbear broke it down like this, "4 cloth napkins from the local Greek restaurant ✔️ circuit boy tank top ✔️ ski boots ✔️ we have ourselves a costume!"

Still, others love the gay attitude it brings to the show.

"Hercules is doing poppers back stage and buying me drinks at pride with that top," @alexthornhill joked.

"Hercules ready for Pride Parade! Love it! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜," added @gustavoflo.

"This was literally going to be my outfit to Horse Meat Disco this weekend now I have to change," said @isaccosimo.

"Ok Herc with the circuit gay lewk," @mflocco said.

Which side do you land on? Would you "go the distance" to see this costume? Or is it giving "no chance, no way?"
