Taking on the iconic role of Vivian is Samantha Barks of Les Misérables fame.

Another of our movie faves is becoming a Broadway musical: this time, the 1990 Julia Roberts classic Pretty Woman. It follows Frozenand Mean Girlsin the movie-to-musical stage trend of the moment.

Taking on the iconic role of Vivian is Samantha Barks, who's perhaps best known for playing Eponine in the movie version of Les Miserables. Steve Kazee, the Tony-winning star of Once, is taking on Richard Gere's role as the businessman Edward Lewis.

The show's book is written by the film's original director, Garry Marshall, and the movie's screenwriter, J.F. Lawton. Songs are penned by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Jerry Mitchell, who's won Tonys for La Cage and Kinky Boots, will direct and choreograph.

The show will head to Chicago this spring for a run at the Oriental Theater, before moving to Broadway in Fall 2018.
