Bob Defends Monet's All Stars 7 Variety Show Performance From the Haters

“If you don’t understand opera…just say that,” the season eight winner wrote.

Sibling Rivalry goes out the door when family is involved.

Bob The Drag Queen is calling out the viewers who are criticizing Monet X Change's opera number during the Variety Show of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7.

The season eight winner wrote in a tweet:

"To the people online who are hating on Monet...I just don't understand why yahoo gotta say racist sh*t. Just be a piece of garbage in private. Why you gotta let the whole world know that you are morally bankrupt?"

Bob continued:

"If you don't understand opera...just say that. If you don't have the sophistication, understanding, and attention span to appreciate something other [than] kicks and splits, just admit it."

Episode 11 of All Stars 7 featured a Variety Show where X Change delivered a jaw-dropping opera performance of "La Sonnambula" by Vincenzo Bellini. The judges and other queens on the show lost their minds over X Change's performance, and so did the vast majority of fans. In the end, X Change was one of the top-two queens of the week alongside Shea Coulee.

Alas, the Drag Race fanbase can be a very tricky group sometimes, and certain viewers have been sending racist remarks toward X Change for apparently not enjoying her Variety Show number or not thinking that she deserved to win. Given that the Variety Show was the last maxi challenge of All Stars 7, three Legendary Legend Stars were awarded to the top two of the week.

As a result of winning the Variety Show, X Change went from having two stars to having five stars - the most out of any queen in the all-winners season. Meanwhile, Coulee went from having one star to having four, which guaranteed her a spot in the grand finale.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7 is now streaming on Paramount+.
