'Dr. Who' Confirms Love Between Doctor and Yasmine Khan in Special

Jodie Whittaker and Yasmin Khan on Doctor Who

Fans waited a very long time for this scene.

The Thirteenth Doctor (played by Jodie Whittaker) has finally confessed her love for Yasmin Khan (played by Mandip Gill) on the latest special episode of Doctor Who.

After waiting for so long, viewers have finally gotten to see the Thirteenth Doctor acknowledging her feelings for Yaz.

The romantic chemistry between the Doctor and Yaz had been building up for a while, but Doctor Who fans didn't know if the series would ever directly address or reference all of the feelings they've clearly developed for one another. During the "Legend of the Sea Devils" special episode that followed season 13, the Doctor had a scene where she openly revealed her feelings for Yaz.

"You know what I said earlier, about not being a bad date?" the Doctor said. "Dates are not something I really do. I mean, I used to - have done. And if I was going to, believe me, it would be with you. I think you're one of the greatest people that I've ever known... If it was going to be anyone, it'd be you. But I can't."

Yaz had already confirmed that she had feelings for the Thirteenth Doctor, but it took a really long time for viewers to get confirmation that those feelings happened to be mutual. Meanwhile, fans are now eagerly awaiting updates on who will become the Fourteenth Doctor of the series.

Whittaker was announced as the first-ever female Doctor in season 11 of Doctor Who. While her final season as the lead ended in December 2021, she's appeared in two special episodes this year. Another is set to air later in 2022.
