The Latest 9-1-1: Lone Star Episode Puts Tarlos Fans Through the Ringer—Again

Can’t TK and Carlos enjoy some pho in peace???

Editor's note: this article contains spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star season 3, episode 12, "Negative Space."

The couple who solves terrorist attacks together stays together.

That was the story for our favorite first responder couple TK (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) on this week's truly dizzying episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star. Not only did the two get to work together on solving a case, but they also almost both got killed again! (Trauma bonding is still bonding, right?)

The episode started out with TK's dad, Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe), finding out that the cop he had stopped from murdering undocumented people during the snow storm had got off on his murder charges and was free to roam.

This, of course, led Captain Strand, and us, to think that that former-cop was responsible for the recent terrorist threat against Strand's girlfriend Catherine (Amy Acker) and the bloody message left at his house at the end of last episode. But it wouldn't be 9-1-1 if there wasn't a twist.

That cop wasn't the only one back in town at the exact same time as these two attacks. Sadie, the woman Owen spent time with in Hill Country during the snowstorm (played by Julie Benz), and who was also held captive by the cop, is also in Austin having an art show! What a coincidence!

The coincidences continue to build as Sadie's art gallery burns down with her in it! And Captain Strand rescues her! But he doesn't see those coincidences and only sees a beautiful woman, so HE TAKES HER BACK TO HIS HOUSE. This is where our boys TK and Carlos come in.

The two of them have decided they're going to solve the terrorist threat at the capitol building that targeted Owen's girlfriend, and get some delicious pho to go along with their combing through security footage. But now, Sadie is with them. And Sadie isn't who she's pretending to be.

This is when it all goes down.

First, TK gets up off the couch - his pho is a little spicier than usual - but then, he doesn't come back. In the meantime, Carlos finally sees Sadie on the security footage from the capitol building. He asks her why she did it and she explains that she and Owen are destined to be together, just like TK and Carlos.

"Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe that you and TK are destined to be together? You know what, I know that you do. I can tell just from the short time I've been here," she tells him. "This home you've made together, it's like you're supposed to be here, and he's who you're supposed to be with. And that other place, that was supposed to burn down, it had to burn down, right? That's the same with me and Owen, we are meant to be together too."

When Carlos realizes that TK hasn't come back, he tries to stand up, but quickly finds he can't. Sadie has poisoned them!!! She put oxy in their pho!!!

Once again, TK and Carlos are nearly murdered when they're just trying to have a nice night to themselves! Thankfully, Marjan (Natacha Karam) showed up to help and punched Sadie's lights out, but damn, if this is how TK and Carlos' dates keep going, this is going to be one bumpy relationship!

Thankfully, the two are actually destined to be together, very much unlike Owen and Sadie, who it turned out had murdered her previous husband and kept his head in the freezer. Wow! Owen dodged a bullet there!

Unfortunately, being poisoned with oxy means TK is back to day one of his sobriety. At least he has Tommy and Nancy to help him. Hasn't this man been through enough???

9-1-1: Lone Star is off next week, but will be back the Monday after that on Fox.
