Ryan Murphy has posted two tantalizing images from the upcoming tenth season of American Horror Story and we are dying to know more!
On Wednesday, the American Horror Story creator posted a picture of Leslie Grossman and Macaulay Culkin arm in on a Provincetown beach to tease the tenth season of the show, which is expected to premiere sometime this year.
In the photo, Grossman, who has appeared in the last three seasons of AHS, is wearing a grey fur coat with a fur hat and sunglasses. Culkin, who is joining the series for the first time, is also wearing a winter coat. So, it seems the new season will take place in winter?
"Something wicked this way comes," Murphy captioned the image, "American Horror Story Season Ten."
Interestingly, when Murphy announced the cast back in February, it was in a clip that had Orville Peck's "Summertime" playing over it, leading some to believe the season would be summer-themed. How does that fit in with the picture of Grossman and Culkin in winter coats?
Then today, he posted another, spookier image. Captioned "Night Moves" by Murphy, this second photo is a still that shows two pale, bald figures walking through a foggy night time street. The figures are draped in dark cloaks, and bear more than a passing resemblance to Nosferatu's Count Orlock. Does that mean we're going to see vampires this season?
We don't know much about this upcoming season. We know that Sarah Paulson will be making her much-hyped return to the series. We know that it's filming in Provincetown. We know that Paulson will be joined by Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Billie Lourd, Finn Whittrock, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and the aforementioned Grossman and Culkin.
In a recent interview with E!, Murphy said he got Culkin to join the cast after telling him the character was a "very, very great insane part" and his character would have "crazy erotic sex with Kathy Bates." Culkin reportedly said, "this sounds like the role I was born to play."
Murphy had released several teasers before. In March of last year, he posted an image of pale, bruised hands climbing out of the water with the phrase "Things are beginning to wash up on shore..." In May, he posted a picture of a Provincetown beach, and in November, he posted a picture of a wide open mouth with sharp teeth and a tattoo on it's tongue reading "AHS10" In addition to all of this, there's still the American Horror Stories spinoff on Hulu.
The more Murphy teases us, the more we think there might be a trailer or title reveal coming soon. At least we hope so.
