Schitt's Creek, the hilarious and often touching show from co-creator Dan Levy, just announced the premiere date for it's sixth (and final!) season on Pop TV. We'll get to see 14 final episodes of our beloved Rose family starting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020.
Outcover star Dan Levy created Schitt's Creek with his father, proficiently eyebrowed character actor Eugene Levy, who also happens to play his father on the Emmy-nominated show. Now that the beloved cult comedy is wrapping up, Levy says that he's finally realizing what an accomplishment ending the show on his own terms is.
"I was just reveling in every single moment," he toldOut Editor-in-Chief Phillip Picardi, "When I went to bed every night, I did so knowing that I was savoring every last drop of this experience."
Levy has said that he's written a happy ending for his character, David, who identifies as pansexual. "I wanted him to live in that safe space where he can let his guard down and be vulnerable, and be loving and warm," Levy said. He wanted to take the story of a Small Town Gay and give him a loving, happy, and healthy relationship.
The show received four Emmy bids this year, including for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor (Eugene Levy), Outstanding Lead Actress (Catherine O'Hara), and Outstanding Contemporary Costume Design.
What's in store for the final bow of Schitt's Creek: Perhaps a wedding for David and Patrick? A triple-wig reveal for Moira? Even more servings of Herb Ertlinger fruit wine? Find out when the final season of Schitt's Creek premieres on Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. Eastern, and check out Levy's cover story to find out more about the show.
