Sci-fi classic Lost in Space is known for two things: outrageous '60s camp and introducing the phrase "danger, Will Robinson!" to the world at large. One of those is present in the first look at Netflix's upcoming reboot, and it certainly isn't DayGlo polyester space uniforms.
While the trailer isn't serving the same level of camp as the original, the uniforms the Robinson family wear do suggest a retrofuturistic sensibility, which is essential to the DNA of Lost in Space, so there's hope yet.
Netflix's reboot, which will consist of ten episodes, follows the commercially successful but critically panned 1998 film version, which starred Gary Oldman, Matt LeBlanc, Heather Graham and Lacey Chabert -- what a cast! Netflix's version stars Dexter's Molly Parker and -- much more importantly -- gay icon Parker Posey, who will hopefully be allowed to chew some scenery.
All ten episodes of Lost in Space will be available for streaming on April 13.
