WATCH: Lady Gaga Checks in to American Horror Story: Hotel

Get ready for a Gaga, Matt Bomer, Finn Wittrock sandwich.

On Sunday, Comic-Con fans got their first look at Lady Gaga in her upcoming role on Ryan Murphy'sAmerican Horror Story: Hotel. We only see Mother Monster's elaborately gloved hand ringing a bell, but Murphy was on hand to add a few more details.

"She said, 'I want to be evil.' And I said, 'OK, you came to the right place,' " Murphy said at a panel with AHS regulars Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates in tow.

The TV titan called casting Gaga "one of the weirdest things in my career ever." The Lady emailed him personally asking if she could be on the show and since Murphy's mama didn't raise no fool, he replied in all caps: "YES."

A week later, Murphy's phone rang and he said he heard "the best words in the English language: 'Please hold for Gaga.' "

Murphy had nothing but good things to say about Hurricane Gaga and dropped a few clues as to her Hotel character:

She's been very collaborate and incredibly fun. When you work with somebody like her, you sign up for something that I think is larger than life. Part of her role involves fashion. You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way so the designers have been coming out of the woodwork.

While he sang the singer's praise, Murphy said Gaga wouldn't actually be carrying any tunes since he felt he "got that out of my system" on previous seasons. "Never say never," Murphy said. "But no, I feel like the fun of it is doing something different."

Gaga is also involved in a love triangle with Matt Bomer's Donovan -- a man with more than a few dark secrets -- and AHS: Freak Show's Finn Wittrock.

And while supreme Jessica Lange's presence will be missed this season, Murphy said it's an opportunity for more characters to shine:

This year, it's a true ensemble and I think we have more male parts and more male stories. The Wes Bentley part is really big, the Matt Bomer part is really big; Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock are really big. [But] that's not to say that the women aren't either.

It's nice to know that Matt, Evan, Wes and Finn are all really big this year. It remains to be seen how big until Angie, Kathy and Sarah start acting the pants off those boys.
