GIF-cap: ‘Looking for Gordon Freeman’

Welcome back to the Looking GIF-caps. We're finally over our Oscar hangover -- Joan Rivers, we poured a whole bottle for you! -- and ready for a nice does of drama in this week's episode of Looking.

It's Halloween, and for the first time in the series, everyone's in the same room. (Yes, you could argue that Dom's birthday brought everyone together, but Kevin's ice cream chatter doesn't really count.) And you know what happens when you put a bunch of drunken, costumed gays, Doris, and a karaoke machine together in one room? Trouble with a capital "T"! (Yes, I went there.)

Let's just cut to the chase on this one, because the party is too good and really where we want to focus our attention.

Agustin 2.0 & Eddie. Our upgraded, nice version of Agustin has invited Eddie to be his date and possibly sleeping buddy for the night.

Costume? A hairy fairy and Bilbo Baggins.

Dom minus Doris (plus Malik). While Will and Grace typically spend Halloween together as paired costume couple, this year Doris is breaking the tradition to partner with Malik. Meanwhile, Doris is scared of falling in love, Dom is scared of losing his bestie, and Malik is scared of Dom's interference. Oh, love triangles.

Costume? A surprisingly sexy blond-wigged He-Man, Sonny, and Cher.

Patrick. Newly single, Patrick is focusing on being the "fun gay" this year by hosting a party and shedding the Golden Ghouls in favor of a more fun, hip look. And of course, he invited Kevin.

Costume? Gordon Freeman, one of the most popular video game characters of all time a.k.a. "the mail man from the future that hasn't dropped off the package I hadn't ordered yet."

Richie, Brady, & that Drunk Girl. OK, she may not be intoxicated, but she sure acts like it. And as one of Richie's and Brady's friends, she finds herself tagging along and somehow reminding Patrick that the two are, like, "put a ring on it cute" because, you know, Brady is way more fun than him.

Costume? Carol, Max Records, the Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation with at a Party.

Kevin and Jon. After seeing the sites of San Francisco before possibly moving back to Seattle, the pair makes their way to the party much to Patrick's chagrin.

Costume? Broken-hearted boy with a questionably, unsuspecting meathead boyfriend.

As the party gets going, it's clear that Patrick is on a one-way journey to blacked-out self destruction. From the get go, it's a drink followed by awkward conversation with detours to bitchy spouts repeated in succession until Patrick decides to make use of the karaoke machine -- but, more on that in a second.

First, a few revelations: Brady takes PrEP (way to get topical, Looking), Eddie doesn't want any labels to define what he and Agustin are, Dom wants to start a Tumblr and comes to accept Malik.

And with Kevin and Jon's unexpected arrival -- not to mention an unsuccessful pass at a stray Legolas, who was not having any of what Patrick was forcing down his throat -- Patrick goes off the rails with an epic tirade, leaving no one unscathed. And he made damn sure someone was going to make use of that karaoke machine.

All things considered, the party continues on and Patrick gets way too easy of a pass from his friends. And, clearly, Kevin has some figuring out to do because his boy is not ready to let go.

And as it turns out, Dom & Doris were in matching Halloween costumes all along.
