Sports is one of the rare venues where what you can do matters more than what you look like (or at least it should). Your beliefs, skin color, gender representation and sexual orientation, though important to personal identity, should all take a backseat to your ability to play the game well.
Now Nike is encouraging athletes and fans alike to translate that level of equality and respect off the field. Their EQUALITY campaign aims to inspire people to take action in their communities, with the brand leading by example when it recently announced partnerships with PeacePlayers International and MENTOR.
Nike uses its branding power to bring together iconic names in contemporary sports in the short film for EQUALITY, including Serena Williams, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Megan Rapinoe, Dalilah Muhammad, Gabby Douglas and Victor Cruz. Actor Michael B. Jordan and singer Alicia Keys also lend their voice to the film. Watch, below.
