Pride Media is partnering with Pride Live to host the livestream event helping organizations impacted by the health crisis.

As the world continues to respond to the global health crisis, there has been a sizable impact on marginalized communities across the nation and the organizations that serve them. LGBTQ+ groups, for instance, have had to cancel fundraising events, and individual donations have been affected by the crisis's economic fallout.

On June 26, Pride Media -- owner of The Advocate, Out, and Plus magazines as well as and Out Traveler -- will join Pride Live for its annual Stonewall Day, a global livestream event to raise critical funds for LGBTQ+ organizations most affected by COVID-19.

Stonewall Day National Chair Geena Rocero will join activists, influencers, celebrities, and business leaders for a day of performances (including a top secret headliner), community, giving, and most of all, a celebration of LGBTQ+ resilience.

"Since we launched Stonewall Day three years ago, our goal has been to honor those who stood up and bravely took action to ignite the fight for LGBTQ+ equality. The spirit of the Stonewall rebellion lives on in all of us," says Dr. Yvette C. Burton, president of the Pride Live board of directors.

"We are so proud to partner with Pride Media for Stonewall Day 2020," Burton adds. "This global livestream event will raise critical funds for our LGBTQ+ youth organizations most affected by COVID-19. If our history has taught us anything, it is that our greatest moments have come from helping and supporting each other -- and we invite all of you to join us on June 26."

"Stonewall Day recognizes the anniversary of an incredible moment in the movement for LGBTQ liberty and pride and taking that to a virtual celebration this year will in no way lower the importance," says Diane Anderson-Minshall, CEO of Pride Media.

"For Pride Media, it was especially important this year for us to throw in for this exciting day of virtual festivities because we wanted to help LGBTQ+ youth, many of whom have been adversely impacted by this crisis," Anderson-Minshall continues. "Some kids are at home with parents who don't accept their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression; others are homeless in an era where shelters simply can't social distance. We want anything we do to help those kids out so you're not just listening to some awesome performers but you're helping protect the most vulnerable among us -- queer and trans kids."

Last year, thousands of New Yorkers descended upon Christopher Street in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.

Hosted by Elvis Duran, Stonewall Day 2019 welcomed numerous prominent LGBTQ people and allies to the stage, including Chelsea Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg, Christian Siriano, Andy Cohen, Don Lemon, Geena Rocero, Valerie Jarrett, Wilson Cruz, Donatella Versace, Lady Gaga, and in a surprise performance, Alicia Keys.
