Working to ease the college debt crisis and help millions of Americans pay off their student loans, the liberal U.S. senator from Wisconsin has continued to push for reform. However, Baldwin faced intense scrutiny for her office's slow response to the over-prescription of drugs -- uncovered by a whistleblower -- at the Tomah VA Medical Center. The senator went on to propose legislation to fight opioid addiction, which the senate passed in March.
