Check Out the Electric Trailer for 'Nico, 1988'

Nico, 1988 follows the German superstar Nico as she approaches 50 years old, decades after her glittering limelight as one of Andy Warhol's stars and as a celebrated vocalist for The Velvet Underground.

The film sees Nico as her career flutters on the edge, and her manager Richard convinces her to return to the road to promote her latest album. It also taps into her frayed relationship with her son, whom she lost custody of long ago.

Susanna Nicchiarelli wrote and directed the film, which will be released by Magnolia Pictures on August 1 in select theaters.
