The acclaimed FX series Pose has made TV history yet again. "Love is the Message," the show's sixth episode which aired the past Sunday evening, was directed by Janet Mock. While Mock has been heavily involved in the entire series, this is the first time she both wrote and directed an episode of Pose, making her the first trans woman of color to ever write and direct an episode of television.
With great humility, Mock expressed her gratitude in a tweet last Sunday. "That smile hides my nerves about being the first trans woman of color to write & direct TV," she wrote. "We are deserving of opportunity & more than capable."
