During the Olympics, Sally Field's son Sam was open about his admiration for -- and crush on -- Adam Rippon, tweeting constantly about how refreshing it was to see an unabashedly gay man become the "sweetheart" of the games.
“I hate being earnest but an openly, “non-passing”, sassy, beautiful gay 20-something daring America not to love him and becoming the sweetheart of the Olympic Games is very moving to me.”
While chatting with Buzzfeed in PyeongChang, Rippon commented, "Sally. SHE BOLD," and had his own message for her son. "Sam, your mom - I admire her. And I'm sure one day we're going to meet! So thanks, mom."
Field can rest easy, because Rippon and her son finally met this weekend at the Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles.
