Sally Field's Dreams Come True As Adam Rippon Finally Meets Her Son

During the Olympics, Sally Field's son Sam was open about his admiration for -- and crush on -- Adam Rippon, tweeting constantly about how refreshing it was to see an unabashedly gay man become the "sweetheart" of the games.

Field tried to help her son out, using her celebrity power to catch Rippon's attention in another tweet.

While chatting with Buzzfeed in PyeongChang, Rippon commented, "Sally. SHE BOLD," and had his own message for her son. "Sam, your mom - I admire her. And I'm sure one day we're going to meet! So thanks, mom."

Field can rest easy, because Rippon and her son finally met this weekend at the Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles.

Now they just need to go out for coffee...we ship it!
