"It’s a lie. It’s a Band-Aid lie to make them feel better.”
In a new interview with the Sunday Times, Rose McGowan gave her thoughts on the current state of Hollywood in the wake of #MeToo. The actress "swears she will never act again" so she can remain critical of the industry, not that she's too broken up about it: "I just think they're douchebags."
McGowan seems to be referring to women in the industry. "I just think they're losers," she said. "I don't like them. How do I explain the fact that I got a GQ Man of the Year award and no women's magazines and no women's organizations have supported me?" McGowan also said that she isn't invited to #MeToo events, nor does she want to go. "[I]t's all bullshit. It's a lie. It's a Band-Aid lie to make them feel better," she explained. The Charmed star was one of the first to come forward and accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, but now one of the boldest voices against sexual assault in Hollywood has lost faith in the movement.
McGowan also agreed with Trump supporters who call actors "faux liberals." "It's crap, and they know it is deep down, but they're living an empty life, and to me that's their punishment."
