It's official: a musical about Cher's life is hitting Broadway in Fall 2018.
Cher: The Musical will first run in Chicago in June before moving to The Neil Simon Theater in New York in autumn, Entertainment Weeklyreports.
The show will explore Cher's entire wild life, and feature some of her most cherished songs, including "If I Could Turn Back Time," "I Got You Babe," "Believe," and "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves." The show is being directed by Avenue Q's Jason Moore, with a book by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), and Memphis' Daryl Waters doing orchestrations and arrangements.
Cher had tweeted back in January her excitement for the project after seeing a staged reading of it:
"My life as a musical on Broadway. It seems crazy, exciting and bizarre--but that's probably how my life seems to most people," said Cher in a statement.
