Born Destiny Frasqueri, the rapper's new song coincides with her move to Rough Trade Records and caps off a string of transformations over her short career. In the seven years since releasing her first song on SoundCloud, she's gone by the names Wavy Spice and Destiny before settling on her artistic alter ego, Princess Nokia. She's also gained acclaim as an LGBTQ advocate--she started the first LGBTQ peer group at her Catholic high school and has since become a fixture in queer New York nightlife.
