This Brooklyn Drag Queen Predicted the Babadook's Queer Impact
The greatest gift of this year's Pride season has surely been the Babadook becoming both a queer icon and a ridiculous meme. According to numerous thinkpieces, the meme began when The Babadook was accidentally archived in Netflix's LGBT film section, and a few months later a meme was born.

But before the Babadook had come out of the closet as a gay icon, Brooklyn drag queen Lucy Balls had already mined the horror film for a drag number at Drag Race finalist Sasha Velour's monthly show Nightgowns.
