That past is the subject of a new series currently being shopped around. Executive produced by Ru alongside JJ Abrams and written by Gary Lennon, it will follow young RuPaul Charles during the '80s. The fictional depiction of his early career includes his rise in the New York club scene to his current status as drag superstar.
