Just a day after Katy Perry proved she's "Woke AF" with her new "Chained to the Rhythm" music video, the comeback singer continued her Purposeful Pop era with a politically charged performance at the BRIT Awards in London.

Perry was joined onstage by two oversized marionette versions of President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Theresa May. As Perry and Skip Marley performed lyrics like, "Time is ticking for the empire," sparks bursted from the marionettes' hands. By the end of the performance, Trump was face palming and May covering her mouth, making it clear that Perry is fearful for the future.
Perry has come a long way from her days of "Waking Up in Vegas," and she revealed in a Capital FM interview about the new single, "I definitely didn't want to write a club banger [...] I was like, 'How are we writing a club banger when the world is on fire?"
Stay woke, Perry.
