Watch the First Episode of The Trixie & Katya Show

Since it was announced that RuPaul's Drag Race Favorites Trixie Mattell and Katya would be spinning off their viral YouTube show UNHhhh into a Viceland series, adult gay men and teenage girls the world over have been eagerly waiting for it's November 15 premiere. But apparently Vice and World of Wonder decided that releasing the show's first episode early would help create buzz, and the first episode of The Trixie & Katya Show is now available to watch online.

In the show's premiere, Trixie and Katya tackle the tangled web that is modern romance in "Hooking Up."

Now, this is only the first episode, but right off the bat there are things I like and things I don't care for. Trixie and Katya are as funny as ever, and the show as a whole looks more expensive, but I'm not sure that's necessarily a good thing. A big part of why UNHhhh works is because of it's iMovie editing charm, and the more slick production doesn't necessarily work in favor of Trixie and Katya's humor. Trixie and Katya work well together because they give each other room to spin one-liner jokes into absurdist commentary, and the faster-paced editing and title cards of The Trixie & Katya Show is almost dumbing down their humor.

The parts where the new show improve upon UNHhhh are when Trixie and Katya interact with real life people. The section where they interrogate a man they've allegedly tricked into coming over for a hookup is especially hilarious.

The Trixie & Katya Show premieres November 15 on Viceland.
